Cassavetes crafts a film that isn't overboard in its surreal approach to a woman having an emotional breakdown. Similarly, Rowlands gives a masterful performance that isn't too over-the-top, yet still displays a full range of emotional highs and lows. The low budget feel of the film allows the performances to be more noteworthy.

A complex, deeply-felt look at a woman's struggle with her sanity; acted with gusto by Gena Rowlands and Peter Falk, writer/director John Cassavetes does what he does best and examines realistic characters under difficult circumstances with penetrating results.

Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed with this movie, but then again it was ok.
