Totally a kids movie, but one that won't leave adults completely bored. With Jason Lee and David Cross, you know you're going to be getting something at least entertaining. The songs are remixed, though not unbearable. The CGI is just okay.

so, so cute

I have been wanting to see this movie for a long time and it did not dissapoint! I thought it was just aborable and I enjoyed it so much. The animated chipmunks worked seemless with the live actors. This movie was fun and so very cute. I can not wait to see the sequal.

Alvin Lives!

As a fan of the original Chipminks I went into this movie expecting to hate it but I came out realizing that this movie was, at the very least, keeping Alvin alive and introducing him and his borthers to a whole new generation.

The animation was passable and would have worked if the entire film were animated. Each character was there as they were in the original. By the end of the film they had grown on me and with little homages to the original sprinkled through it was saved from being a really bad movie

While Jason Lee was not the sell out I had feared he was in THIS film I seriously hopes he gets back to making real films with some substance and real acting. Wil Farrell could have done the part of Dave Seville.

strictly for fans of the show, and 9 year olds

This a movie for the kids who watched the television show growing up, loved it, and wanted to re-live a little piece of their childhood. The animation gives the singing trio a visual style emphasizing cuteness rather than realism. although the story has virtually no plot curve or even much of a plot other than the linear problems Dave has with the chipmunks and his family issues, but its still a goofy, fun, cute ride. And note to Jason Lee, PLEASE don't do anymore old cartoon-movie adaptations. You're on a one-way train to fourth or even fifth string star with you're dull acting in this and underdog. Find Kevin Smith, and latch on.

Review - Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007)

Dave Seville (Jason Lee) was a down-on-his-luck musician who just needed that special something to make his songs sell. That’s when three talking chipmunks, Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney), ended up raiding his home. Their rise to stardom is seen in “Alvin and the Chipmunks.”

It seems that trailers these days can really manipulate how you view a movie. I started watching this movie with hatred in my mind. From the start I wanted to hate this movie so much. Turns out, it was actually not nearly as bad as I had feared.

I was never a huge fan of the chipmunks when they were just a cartoon show, but I actually enjoyed this movie more than I expected. I’ll probably never watch it again, but it had its pros. For one, at times it can be excru...
