Like a retarded puppy... |
Postal is the latest movie from the much maligned German director Uwe Boll. It is, like every film he’s made since 2003's House of the Dead, based on a video game and, also like that film, has very little in common with its' source material. Postal follows a rather unique day in the life of a recently sacked factory worker (Zack Ward) who starts out at a job interview and ends up trying to save the human race. Along the way he is aided and thwarted (mostly the latter) by an eclectic mix, including: a bunch of bloodthirsty townsfolk, a cult comprised almost entirely of scantily clad models, terrorists, homicidal policemen, a dwarf who voices a popular (genital shaped) kids toy, Osama Bin Laden and … Uwe Boll! There is no real plot – the action proceeds from location to location seemingly o... |

My Soul is Tainted Forever! |
If I knew that this was a Uwe Boll film before, then I would not have even picked it up at the video store. I could only get thruough the first 20 min. before I lost part of my sanity. Nothing like the game it's based from, and not even close to what a real movie should look, sound, or be. This is the biggest waste of time I have ever witnessed. PLEASE, somebody stop Uwe Boll before he makes another inhumane catastrophie. I wish I had those 20 min. back. |

See the first three minutes. |
I got suckered into seeing this because of the opening three minutes that were available on the net, thinking it would be more of the same. Turns out they were the cherry on top of the colossal pile of shit. For all the bitching about how offensive the movie is, it's relatively tame and save for a few lines painfully unfunny. The humor is tired and predictable, the action is horrible and involves mainly bullets hitting inanimate objects. My first and probably last Boll film. |

Maybe my expectations were too low |
I was so prepared to be disgusted and it really wasn't all that bad. There comes a point when things lose their shock value. I was expecting to want to walk out of the movie, but I didn't. It wasn't poorly made and even had some nice character development. I would never have paid money to see it, but it didn't disappoint. |
