While the movie is pretty decent and has a good cast, the problem lies partly within the story. An age-old tale, the devil promises a mortal happiness in exchange for his soul. The other problem is that Alec Baldwin directed this film. It is probably because of his contacts that he was able to assemble such a fine cast (especially Anthony Hopkins was wonderful). However, he is a decent actor and much less of a director. I hope he sticks to acting. What you will find is a barely decent way to pass the time. It avoids such pitfalls as boredom, but is nothing really new. What it did do for me was reevaluate my priorities, especially since like the character I "try" to write.
