A surprisingly original fun film

I've been a fan of Ray Romano ever since hearing him on Dr. Katz professional therapist. He was very funny, and then seeing him on his show Everybody Loves Raymond really pushed him over the top as a comedian to me. Welcome to Mooseport is a funny movie that does well on its own. While it may lack the saterical bite that it could have had that would have made it much more popular it does have some good qualities. Romano's character is not that different from the character her portrays on his tv show. Gene Hackman's performance was another great role for his resume. I liked how his character had many sides to him. Marcia Gay Harden, Maura Tierney, Christine Baranski, Fred Savage, and Rip Torn were all part of the main supporting cast and I felt they all played their characters well.
