Ahhh! Snakes? on a what..?

"Wow". That's the feeling I got when I saw this movie. The beginning gives this movie a complete misconception on what this movie is going to be like. First you're like, "cool guns and action" then by the end your like "what the heck?". There were several disappointing things about this movie. First off, I get that it's called "Snakes on a Plane" but can we see a little more then that? The entire time it was: snakes attack people, snakes kill people, people run from snakes, people attack snakes and repeat. But I will say there were good parts to this movie as well. Samuel L. Jackson played an excellent role to the B.A. cop escorting Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips) to his destination. This movie is still good and I'll still recommend it to anyone who wants to see a mindless movie. I give Snak...

Film being Pure

I didn't see this movie until it came out on DVD. And interestingly enough, I didn't even rent it. I found it for a decent price at a used music and movie place near my old apartment in LA; so I bought it.

My first piece of what SoaP consisted of actually began before the movie was released. It was the music video and song by Cobra Starship called 'Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)'. In my own opinion, it was a very fun song with a great musical tone and it just had this adventurous feel to it as you listen to it that seems incredibly fitting (and this is even not having seen the movie yet).

I digress (which I do a lot).

So, I watched the movie and I thought it was very good. It was what it was. Again, not an award winner; but if you go into the movie just looking for entert...

If you like it bad, this snake will make you moan

This movie's knows just how bad it is -- and it couldn't get worse. There's something respectable about that. Something noble.

Viewers who take this film at face value will miss what it's all about. I read this movie as a statement about every bad genre-specific, situational movie you've ever seen. In this respect, it's more subtle than spoof films like Scary Movie or Loaded Weapon: it's satire.

Every year Hollywood feds us ridiculous scenarios that are supposed to "take us for a ride" or "thrill" us. A giant meteor is coming. The sharks with brain implants are going to eat us. I'm stuck on a bus that could explode at any moment, but some super cop is here to save me.

Think about it. The situation in each is just as stupid as "Snakes on a Plane," but at least SoP kn...
