The freshness and adventure of the first film isn't as bold in this sequel, but there are still enough creative cultural references and beautiful animation to keep it interesting and entertaining. Still a definite win for Dreamworks and an above average animated entry into a soon to be classic franchise. |

Wonderful computer animation and a good story too |
|
"Shrek 2" is a wonderfully animated movie that reintroduces us to an Ogre (Mike Myers) and his formerly human wife, "Fiona" (Cameron Diaz), as well as introduces us to her parents.
The story mostly takes place in "Far Far Away," a place where characters from popular fairy tales come to life.
The acting is great, especially when it comes to the chemistry between Myers and Diaz, as well as Eddie Murphy ("Donkey"). Nearly every performance is believable.
There are a lot of jokes directed at the children in the audience, but there are a few that only the adults will understand. Also, there are many sight gags that will make you laugh out loud. Watch out for some of the puns though.
Myers is fantastic as the title character. He, and possibly Eddie Murphy as well, steal many of ... |
