I love everyone in this film and everything about this film. A rewatch proved to be very delightful. If I could only love all movies like this one.

pay the price

A wise examination of love, relationships and heartbreak from different perspectives; Danes is perfectly cast as a lonely dreamer with big plans for herself that she just hasn't gotten around to yet; Martin is a weary millionaire (well cast in a straight dramatic role) and Schwartzman does what he does best, playing the annoying schlub. Final Grade: B

A new side of Martin...

Steve Martin did a wonderful job with this film. The characters were smart, witty, endearing and real. The only complaint I had was that with Steve Martin both in the film and narrating from a point of view that wasn't his character's it got a little distracting. But all and all this is a very well put together story that restores my faith in old sayings "everything happens for a reason" and "somtimes you don't appreciate what you've got until it's gone."
