Celebrities and Their Favorite Movies

After watching Open Court on TV, I decided to create a blog since it seemed like a good idea. Shaq names Don’t Be a Menace in South Central particularly mentioning the hot cheese scene, Kenny Smith cites Do The Right Thing, Steve Kerr says Shawshank Redemption and Charles Barkley states that he never gets tired of Braveheart, divulging that he just saw it three days ago.

Other sports celebrities get in the spirit as well. David Beckham loves The Last Samurai while Tiger Woods, unsurprisingly, has a deep appreciation for Caddyshack. From another website both Adele and Gary Oldman adore The Godfather Part II while Lindsay Lohan chooses Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Brad Pitt has two: Planet of the Apes (1968) and Saturday Night Fever. Daniel Craig seems to love From Russia with Love and Britney Spears enjoys Ferris Bueller’s Day off. Clint Eastwood’s favorite films were Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, Letter’s From Iwo Jima and Unforgiven.

It's wonderful to see how varied the taste in film runs for celebrities. Some choose a film that is part of the franchise, it's especially interesting when they choose a film that seems to run counter to on-screen personalities. To quote my favorite actor Al Pacino from a trivia site:

"'The Godfather I & II' are my two favorite films. I honestly have a difficult time deciding which one I prefer, and I change my mind all the time. I love the original because we get to see Michael develop into a ruthless crime boss, but the first sequel is just as good, considering that we get to take a peek into the back story of Vito Corleone, and how he became the godfather. In my opinion, movie making and character development don't get much better than this.”

Do you know other celebs that have favorite films? Feel free to add to the list by contributing popular personalities and the movies they crave.
