New Movies to Crave: The Green Hornet Battles a Dilemma

It should be an interesting weekend at the box office for once now that a super hero has arrived on the scene.

1) I'm interested to find out if The Green Hornet can overcome bad early buzz to become a certified hit. While I'm still not sure Seth Rogan is the right choice, at least in the last few weeks the ad wizards have really stepped up their game in making the movie much more appealing. Still, I will personally relegate this to rental status only, but don't let that stop you!

2) While I have a healthy respect for Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Connelly and to a lesser extent Winona Ryder, okay, not so much Kevin James, I have a hard time seeing The Dilemma reversing the trend of the romantic comedy curse that I see extending into this new year. Granted, there's still not much competition to this type of film, but it just has no appeal to me - the last thing I saw Vaughn in was Couples Retreat, and I can't see this being much better than that mediocre comedy.

3) If you like martial arts, let the warrior in you out once again and catch Ong Bak 3 or you could wait a month and buy it on Blu-Ray. Still, if you're a fan of this series, and Tony Jaa, it follows right on the heels of Ong Bak 2 and continues the journey of Tien.

We'll see if Seth Rogan can bring life to another super hero and if the romantic comedy can make a comeback. See you Sunday night!
