People's Choice Awards - Did The People Get It Right?

Favorite Movie - The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The final award of the night, and maybe the biggest let down. The Twilight groupies were voting strong on this one. With the movie being #73 on FilmCrave's top movies of 2010, I find it hard to believe this movie should actually be the winner. After all, FilmCrave is also based on regular people's ratings. With other nominated movies like Inception and Toy Story 3, I am saddened that the night ended this way. Granted, I haven't not seen the third Twilight movie yet, I hear it is not as good as the second. It is in my Netflix queue, when I see it maybe I'll be surprised, but I don't think I will. In my view Inception should have won. But, it is possible, the teen-bop voters probably don't have enough brain cells to understand Inception.

Favorite Movie Actor - Johnny Depp

This is not a surprise winner here, it is actually what I expected. To be honest, I would have been happy with Depp, Dicaprio, or Downey Jr. As long as neither of the Twilight duo won, I'm happy here.

Favorite Movie Actress - Kristen Stewart

The Twilight fans triumphed here. I personally think Stewart looked pretty hot at the awards, and is definitely dating material, but when it comes to her job, let's face it, she isn't quite cream of the crop. Many people out there think she can't act at all, so how did she win? Granted, I'd rather have Kristen win over Katherine Heigl, the unfortunate leading actress of the terribly outstanding movie Knocked Up. But I've always been a fan of Angelina Jolie, she should have been the winner.

Favorite Action Movie - Iron Man 2

This one is almost right. Out of the movies up for the award, Iron Man 2 comes in 2nd for me. I personally think Kick-Ass should have won. If you haven't seen Kick-Ass, you should, I think most people would be pleasantly surprised how good, but yet how odd, the movie really is. It is entertaining from beginning to end and can easily be watched again.

Favorite Drama Movie - Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Another award for the Twilight group? I really want to shake the hands of the people who voted for Twilight, so I can tell them sorry they have jumped on a band-wagon they will regret in years to come. Are these movies really bad? No. They do entertain, I do enjoy them, but they don't deserve awards. It is pretty clear Inception or The Social Network should have won. Both of those movies stood out in 2010.

Favorite Family Movie - Toy Story 3

Right on the money. I personally liked Despicable Me more, it had more humor and enjoyed it more than Toy Story 3. But I have no ill-feelings for Toy Story 3 winning.

Favorite Comedy Movie - Grown Ups

I'm not sure how the five movies were chosen to be voted on here. I unfortunately have not seen any of them... and I like comedies. Does that mean all five of these are bad? Probably not (Sex and the City 2 excluded of course, we all know this is a terrible movie that should have went straight to DVD). But I wish Hot Tub Time Machine was on there, that was the best comedy for 2010.

Favorite Comedic Star - Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler will always be one of the greatest comedic actors of my era. However, in recent years, he as gone down hill. I think Steve Carell should have won. The more movies I see with him in it, and the more I watched The Office, the funnier he is. Will Ferrell is also a star here, but he has fallen off some too. We will never forget Anchorman though. And his role in Wedding Crashers is pleasantly unexpected and awesome. I'm just glad Tina Fey did not win, I don't understand how people love her. Maybe she just reminds me too much of Sara Palin....

Favorite On Screen Team - The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the trio

No comment.... I need not write anything more. In fact, I'm done with my blog for today. I need to pop in Kick-Ass to get my spirits up and have a good laugh.

Yes, watching Kick-Ass will always get your spirits up. Who doesn't like to watch a little girl slicing and shooting and cussing up a storm? I truly hope a sequel emerges.
