New Movies to Crave: That's Saw Folks!

Since Halloween is the best time of year to dress up and act like a fool, I expect this weekend to be slow on the box office take. Apparently, so does Hollywood as only one film is getting a wide release.

1) Saw 3D or Saw VII or Saw: The Final Chapter - However you slice it (get it - ha ha) this seventh entry in the venerable series in the grand tradition of Halloween is supposed to wrap things up by bringing together a bunch of people from previous saw films to stop jigsaw's legacy from being spread. Horrific deaths ensue. If you've liked the previous Saw films, I'm sure you will appreciate this one as well. Me? I've been watching all the Saw films but pretty much stopped caring after Saw III.

2) Attack of the Limited Release Films - If you happen to live near a large urban mecca of all things important, perhaps you can catch one or more films in limited release such as Monsters - about a trek across an alien-filled wasteland, Welcome to the Rileys, where Kristen Stewart shows a gritty side playing a young prostitute who may end up saving a damaged relationship or The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - the last film of the Swedish trilogy of the ever-popular Millennium books by Stieg Larsson.

Anyway, I predict a battle between Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw 3D for horror fan's hard earned money - the ones who don't plan on getting too crazy anyway. Expect a slow weekend.
