After three weeks on top of the box office, Inception was finally felled by the resurgence of the buddy-cop movie. With $35.6 million, The Other Guys made an impressive debut. It was the highest grossing movie for Will Ferrell since Talladega Nights.

Despite falling to #2, Inception dropped only 32.3% and made an estimated $18.6 million. Its total stands a couple million shy of $230 and moves it to the 6th highest grossing film of the year.

Step Up 3D premiered in 3rd place with $15.5 million. The total is the lowest for the film series, as the second film earned $18.9 million and the original over $20 million. Things would have been worse if not for 3D, as over 80% of the film's receipts came from the 3D showings.

Taking a nosedive in its second week was the comedy Dinner for Schmucks. Losing roughly 55% of its audience, it rounded out the top five earning $10.5 million. In fourth place was the Angelina Jolie espionage action flick Salt with $11.1 million.

Cracking the top ten for the first time was The Kids Are All Right. Riding good word of mouth and critical buzz, the film Added $2.6 million and is sitting at $14 million. With an estimated $4 million budget, it may be the most financial sound picture in the top 10.

In limited release, Get Low is showing good signs as well. Opening to a handful of theaters, and adding 22 new locations, the film jumped 165.4% in attendance and had nearly $9,000 per-theater average. With a $7 million budget, the film should enjoy a healthy gross as well.
