Very witty and intelligent deconstruction of Shakespeare with Roth and Oldman making a superb double act. Everything Shakespeare In Love could've been, but isn't.

I fell in love with Hamlet when I first read it then again when Kenneth Branagh played him. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead tells the same story from the views of the often mistaken duo. Oldman and Roth are perfectly paired and add a sense of humor to the film. It gives me all the more reason to love Hamlet and all that is related to it.

This is a delightful movie with a witty script, played to perfection by both Gary Oldman and Tim Roth. Any fan of Shakespeare, or any fan of Hamlet, or hell, just any fan of plain old fashioned great theatricality will enjoy this movie. It has a slow thoughtful pace, but don't let that put you off, the performances are just too good to miss.
