If at first glance it looks like a clone of "Indiana Jones," the witty rom-com script and focus on the captivating chemistry between the leads prove "Romancing the Stone" to actually be something entirely different. Not to mention almost as great.

It has all the elements of a perfect movie but falls just short of greatness. Still, lots of nostalgia value and certainly in Zemeckis' top 5 best movies.

A fun adventure film. Lots of comedy and exciting action scenes that are reminiscent of the Indiana Jones series. Douglas and Turner have great chemistry and Danny DeVito plays a fun and (as always) somewhat scummy character.

A great action comedy. Turner and Douglas have great chemistry. The story is also really well written to gently poke fun at these kinds of adventure stories.

This is a mix of Indiana Jones, but with a bit of love thrown in for good measure. The locations are set up well and though it isn't quite a classic, it's still a lot of fun to watch after all these years.
