A classic from the 90's. You know what to expect. Lavish set pieces and some overacting. Overall it was pretty well done and can be compared to Bram Stoker's Dracula in its directorial aspects.

This reviewer recalls this as a decent entertaining superhero. The cast impressive with Dalton, Connelly, Sorvino and Arkin. Unfortunately, the film never really got its credit due to its simplistic nature and light plot. It boasts as one of the few pioneers of superhero flicks involving the mob and even Nazi's. The Rocketeer however is an innovative action adventure that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Rip-roaring old school comic strip fun featuring the ever likeable Alan Arkin, the lovely Jennifer Connelly and the dashingly villainous Timothy Dalton. Great aerial sequences, funny touches and a spectacular climax involving mobsters shooting it out with Nazi commandos and an exploding zeppelin.

Good old fashioned adventure film. Needed a bit more polish, though.

Tried to ride the superhero wave, but got lost in the shuffle. It doesn't help they picked a cult rather than a popular hero to base a movie off of. A nice effort for the time, but gets lost among more memorable films.
