You won't know the facts until you see the fiction

When people ask me what my favorite film is, I always answer Pulp Fiction. Because there has never been a doubt in my mind that my favorite motion picture of all time is Pulp Fiction. The part where I rather hesitate is where they ask me why it's my favorite.
To me, no film is perfect. But if there is a film that comes pretty damn close to perfect, it's Pulp Fiction. It's in part quality and in part nostalgia and personal relation that make me love this film, to put it briefly.
This movie just contains every single aspect of filmmaking that I want to see in a film. It's like a movie made for me, because every single scene, every single shot, even every single line of dialogue is a masterpiece in my mind.

An incredibly entertaining flick

Everyone likes Pulp Fiction, and I resisted for the longest time. I had seen Kill Bill, I had seen Death Proof and I thought they were both kind of lame, how good could this other Quentin Tarantino flick be? I kind of thought of it as a gangster version of Forest Gump, a movie that everyone loves despite the fact that it is actually kind of dumb. At least that’s what I thought of it before I watched it.

Pulp Fiction is one of the few modern movies that I think deserves every bit of critical acclaim and IMDB top 250ing that it has gotten. It is incredibly awesome. I know a lot of people go to Fight Club for their manly art-house fix, but I’ve always preferred Pulp Fiction.

I am actually kind of in awe of this movie and how beyond typical analysis it actually is. …

Fantastic story telling and a great cast!

One of the most famous movies of the 1990's, Pulp Fiction is a graphic, crowd-pleasing, shocking and awesome crime drama that tells three short-stories which focus on a certain character and ends with that character reaching the moral high point of his life. But it’s the dialogue that really clinches it for me - sharp, snappy, humorous and delivered at a break neck speed. The verbal sparring is every bit as exciting and violent as the blood and bullets and little bits and pieces of brain.

Each character has their own classic scene and the first one involves John Travolta as Vincent Vega and Uma Thurman as the drug-addict Mia Wallace, the gangster boss's wife and ends with him saving her life, delivering her home safely before walking away (rather than sleeping with her).

The …

Pulp Fiction skillfully blends the stories of Jules and Vincent, a pair of wise cracking hitmen and their stash of unidentified merchandise, Marsellus Wallace the criminal kingpin they work for, his coke snorting wife Mia, scheming prizefighter Butch Coolidge who double crosses him and a pair of smalltime hold up artists. Upon the success of Reservoir Dogs, opinion was heavily divided as to Quentin's merit as a film maker, many condemning him as nothing more than a plagiarist passing off the ideas of better film makers as his own. Pulp Fiction silenced these critics and scooped the Palm d'Or at Cannes and by rights should have won best picture at the Oscars of that year. As you can probably tell, there is enough material here to make three films, but Tarantino's brilliantly economical …

Pulp Fiction review

One of the funniest and uniquely written dark comedies I’ve seen. It is amazing that the stories of a dignified boxer, a Bonnie/Clyde like couple, a crime boss, 2 humorous hitmen and a girl who likes to have fun can be interwoven. A glamorous cast consisting of John Travolta (Vincent Vega), Samuel L. Jackson (Jules Winnfield ), Bruce Willis (Butch Coolidge), Harvey Keitel (Winston Wolf), Uma Thurman (Mia Wallace), Christopher Walken (Captain Koons), Rosanna Arquette (Jody) and many more. The picture had a killer soundtrack and style of chronology that has never been done before. It boasted witty dialogues blurted by memorable characters. What makes this groundbreaking indie film special? Other than the casting, screenplay, various themes, the set pieces, costume, it’s the …

Overrated--Sort Of

What I venomously hated about this movie in the first of hour and a half the movie was made up for times 10 in the last 30-40 minutes which is why it has 2 stars as opposed to the 0.5 stars that I was planning on giving it.

Pulp Fiction is about...well I don't know: French Hamburgers? Blueberry pancakes and potbellies? Boxing? Drug addicts? A magic briefcase? I don't know. What was this movie about? Going into this I was prepared for a whole lot of talking--that's a given in any Tarantino flick. However, he didn't pull it off in this the way he does for movies such as True Romance, Inglorious Basterds, Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2. This reminds me more of Death Proof which was absolutely miserable to watch. The problem lies in the fact that there is just way too much dialogue with no …

Although Quentin Tarantino is considered by many to be one of the most influential and innovative filmmakers of all time, some of his films don't tend to sit well with a small majority of people. That small majority are the same people who don't like Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, or Inglourious Basterds. But no matter who you are, you have to love "Pulp Fiction." It happens to hold the number one spot on mine, and many other film fanatics' lists.

Like Tarantino's theatrical debut "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction" is a truck load of intertwining stories, clever dialogue, violence, drugs, and Tarantino fucking around with chronology. The film takes place over the course of two days, showcasing stories that involve two hitmen, a boxer, a robbing couple, a crime boss, and the crime boss' …

"Pulp Fiction" review.

Pulp Fiction came out in one of the best movie years ever and it's a shame that the movie didn't win more oscars that it deserved. Tarantino's action/crime/comedy film is directed and written very great (the script is propably the best ever). The dialogues includes great quotes and you can really live in the characters conversations. The whole movie feels very original and the 70's music is makes me feel good, especially the intro "Miserlou".
My favourite character in the movie is Samuel L. Jackson's Jules Winnfield. When he reads Hezekiel 25:17 and tells Brett to not say "what?" is one of my favourite moments in the movie.
QT don't follow any special "movie rules" or something like that, he makes his own. And you can really see that in Pulp Fiction which is, by this time, my favourite …

As a movie director/writer, Quentin Tarantino;s genius shows in pretty much every aspect of this film. I've heard some say it's " too much talking and that makes it boring." Well, I suggest you watch the movie again and this time pay attention. There is no other movie even close to being like this one, which proclaims its greatness and originality. The dialogue in the film is really unrivaled in most movies of the 90's, especially the independent films (as this one was). There is a reason that it launched QT's career leaving us eager to see what he would come up with next. It plays out of order, or in some weird way, in the perfect order, the story being such an interesting one as it is, cannot be overlooked here. All of these characters tie in and the way it's done in this movie really …

Pulp Fiction #10

Pulp Fiction is a skillfull collection of 4 stories with overlapping and interwoven plots that deals with the world of Drugs, Crime, and lots of bloodshed! The main link in all four stories is Vincent Vega ( played by the ultra-cool John Travolta). What most people don't know is that Vincent is the brother of Mr. Blonde from the movie Reservoir Dogs. The film centers around Vincent and his partner Jules ( Samuel L Jackson) as the work for their boss Marcellus Wallace played by Rhames. The film tells the story of what might happen when things go wrong during returning your bosses dirty laundry, a date, a fixed fight, and a diner robbery. The screenplay is incredible. The direction by Tarrantino.. And the all-star performance by the entire cast makes this a top notch movie and helps it …
