I love most any film with either Julianne Moore or Woody Harrelson. But this film really was superb. And to think it was based on the true account of one of the many children, is phenomenal. Brilliant performances. It really seems to take you to another place and time, while warming your heart and keeping you rooting for the main characters. Lovely.

The ups and downs of a struggling family is given some heartfelt treatment thanks to patient writing and a sublime performance from Julianne Moore; it skims over the last decades too quickly, but the sentimental journey is worth taking. Final Grade: B
