Jack Sparrow's debt to Davy Jones is due, but, with a little help from his friends, he hopes to do the impossible and escape his fate. this movie was hated by critics and some people but this movie was fun to watch and better then the third one.

The magic of the first film evaporates as the plot gets more complex and the fun characters get overshadowed by special effects sequences. Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow still owns every frame of film he occupies, but the other characters are often pushed aside for extended battle sequences and sea monsters. Still a rush, but imperfect.

Though, it's overlong and the plot gets quite messy with characters and situations it's still full of fun and entertaining moments that make it worth the watch.

I would say that this film was not up to par with the original in many ways, but it surpassed it in others. The villain was much more of a villain than Barbossa in the first, but the story was a bit more contrived. The action was a bit corny in areas of the film, but there was nothing about the film that left a bad taste in my mouth by any means. A great film that the whole family enjoyed!

I've heard many say this was their least favorite of the Pirate trilogy, however, I don't see it. I admit that it is difficult for sequels to come up to par with their previous installments and I agree that Curse of the Black Pearl is definately the best but I find this one as being barely a step down from it. It has all the amazing features that the last did with the same amazing cast of characters and if anything the effects are better. This movie is wihtout a doubt equal in its greatness to the first movie and don't let others make you think differently.

A rousing comic adventure that has some tremendous action set-pieces and creative villains, but the characters are not as compelling as they once were and Captain Jack has lost a lot of his charm; nice cliff-hanging ending. Final Grade: B

The best thing about this one was the costuming of Davy Jones, his crew and The Flying Dutchman -- it was superb. The story was OK.

Many people think this is a mindless sequel - action-filled but going nowhere. I, for one, prefer this to the first Pirates. Sure, it has no resolution, but it's even more fun. Depp once again is the key.
