Action: 3 / 3, Comedy: 0 / 2, Good vs Evil: 1 / 1, Love/Sex: 1 / 1, Special Effects: 1 / 1, Plot: 1 /1, Music: 1 / 1. Thus, 8/10 or 80%, which is 3 / 4 stars for the rating system. Perfect Blue is an animated adult film and it is a psychological thriller that gets away with everything live action won't dare (such as a muderess in a ballerina outfit skipping across light poles).

This is Hitchcock by way of animation. Dark and sordid - where reality and fantasy become harder and harder to separate - this is a cartoon, but it's not for kids. Adults, however, should find this satisfying.
