A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master was one of the better films in the franchise. Great scares, good acting, cool gore effects, and Freddy Krueger still remains as a masterpiece. However, a few parts like Freddy putting on sunglasses, Alice and Dan repeating the same thing they do in one nightmare 4 TIMES, and the windows smashing in the real world. Overall, it's a solid sequel.

"I will see you in hell" / "Tell them Freddy sent you". Freddy returns again, this time to finish what he started with the remaining Dream Warriors. This movie is okay but could have been better.

The dream sequences get more fantastic just as the story gets less interesting. The decline in quality of the series started here. Though, it does have it's moments and Alice is a good protagonist.

Action: 2/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Plot: 0.5/1 + Music: 0.5/1 + Good vs. Evil: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 = 5.5/10 or 55%. They were onto something with 3 so why change a horse mid-sequel? The dream warriors are back, although with a new director, and thus we get the fourth different vision for Freddy. Here he recruits one of the warriors to help him kill and aside from that fun tidbit everything else is completely bland.

Not bad, not great. They tried too hard to make the effects look better, but left the story to fall to the wayside. Freddy isn't as witty this time around, either. Decent entry, but nothing really special.
