While Jimmy Stewart is great in this, it seemed a bit silly at times. I'm not a fan of Jean Arthur, but Capra delivers a good film.

This is not only a comedy/drama, but also a very controversial film, because Capra, at first, show us how Mr. Smith actually is in love with America and what it suposses to represent. That's because in the first minutes, it seems to be a patriotic manifiesto. At the end Mr. Smith starts not only to doubt of what he suposses, but of the entire system. The acting that Stewart gives is one of the most amazing that I've seen. Awesome script.

Jimmy Stewart is an every man. And in this movie, he shows us what we all consider true American ideals. It's too bad that real politics don't work this way.

A great movie with an early look at Washington. Stewart is sensational, and I wish we still had actors around like this.
