Moonstruck review

A witty rom-com that never dulls and has realistic humor without cheesy lines or moments. Great artists who played their parts well in this underrated picture. Loretta Castorini (Cher) was asked by Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello) to marry him. Younger brother of Johnny, Ronny (Nicolas Cage), become close with Loretta. Cosmo (Vincent Gardenia) is having lunch at a fancy restaurant with his mistress Mona (Anita Gillette). Rose (Olympia Dukakis) give advise to Loretta. The acting, score and screenplay were spectacular. The overload of characters though somewhat distracts the main plot of the leads. A Must See

One of my all time favorite date movies.

The romantic scene where Nicolas Cage explains the meaning of love is classic and memorable. "I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice - it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and *die*.
