Lethal Weapon is one of my all time favorite action movies, possibly my favorite. Mel Gibson is great in this and managed to make the movie very touching (which is hard is an action movie). Gibson and Danny Glover have great chemistry throughout the movie and the series. As one of the first buddy movies it a real classic.

One of my all time favorites. The Mel Gibson-Danny Glover team is unbeatable. SGT RIGGS (Mel Gibson) is the loco cop of this story who happens to be assigned to partner with SGT MURTAUGH (Danny Glover). DANNY GLOVER became too involved with his partner that GIBSON had become a new family member to the Murtaughs. A good combination of great laughs and super action.

You could tell the moment they were in a scene together that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had something special here. Add director Richard Donner's dynamite direction and you have an instant success. I love the original as Busey plays the perfect bad guy here and Gibson really takes off as our hero. America truly fell in love with Mel here as a charming and lovable but yet lethal and dangerous cop set out to take on all the bad guys. The action is non stop, the chemistry starts to unfold and the viewer is just along for the ride in this first installment of a four movie franchise. All we needed was a love interest for Riggs......hint, hint..........

This is the movie where I (and I dare say, most of America) fell in love with Mel Gibson. He makes Martin Riggs a butt-kicking, lovable, slightly crazy hero.

Though it had been done before, you can't say the buddy cop adventure has been done much better. Glover and Gibson are the perfect "odd couple" pairing. Plus it has a plot that's just as good as the chemistry.

An incredible action movie and a great example of what Gibson used to be. Riggs and Murtaugh at their best, this one gets the gold. It stays away from 80's music, uses darkness as an ally and sets up Gibson for the perfect young gun role.
