An interesting, meditative, and well acted film that looks deep into the human side of the Son of God.

One of those rare cases where a movie is every bit as fascinating as the controversy behind it. One of Martin Scorsese's finest work.

An overwrought retelling of a familiar story that is so determined to appear different from traditional ideas, that it often falls short in connecting with the audience. The acting is flat, the story disjointed, and the symbolism often beats you over the head with its points.

This film is terrible. I remember the controversy surrounding the film and stayed away for so long. Since it was Scorsese I tried viewing it with an open mind, but I found it terrible regardless of the subject matter. Sorry. Even Barbara Hershy and Willem Dafoe seemed flat and they are decent actors usually.

I wonder if the same people who made such a fuss about this movie are the same ones who saw Passion of the Christ five times? Anyway, despite all the criticism, I found this to be deeply emotional. It has its flaws, but it's quite moving.

I couldn't find it in myself to like this movie. It was not the fictional tones that bothered me, it bothered me of how the story was told. I expected more form Scorsese. Still, I recommend you check it out at least once.
