A teenager completes an arcade machine in a backwater trailer park to find it was actually a test to find pilots to fight in an interstellar war. Enjoyable boys own sci-fi aimed squarely at kids with some nice old school CGI and a likeable cast of supporting characters. Good fun.

It's like a downgraded version of all the great sci-fi films of the 70's and 80's, but still has it's fun.

A classic movie about a boy from a trailer park with extraordinary video game skills . . . really. Its a crazy plot, but very fun.

The first time I watched this was when I was 27 years old, and still I could see why I would have loved it when I was a little kid. But as overall, it wasn't great and it wasn't horrible.

This movie is iconic in the list of great movies released in the early 80's. I remember watching this with my father all the time when it was on television. It was the story of what most young boys dreamed would happen to them one day.

. . . and keeping track of the high score. In the 80's, people thought if you were really good at videogames, it was your ticket out of the trailer park. Maybe you could get some smart computer job. Or fly intense new aircraft for the government. Or, in The Last Starfighter, get recruited by the Intergalactic Federation and save the known universe. Silly 80's people. This is Star Wars gone totally wrong. View only if bad 80's sci-fi is your thing.

this is another great 80s sci-fi. Plus its every young boy's dream--getting called in to help the good guys in the video game you are playing! Its a little cheesy since, like I say, its an 80's sci-fi, but its in the upper tier as far as quality. Stylistically, I'd rank it along side Critters.
