In an unusual turn for Spike Lee (making a genre film with more widespread appeal), "Inside Man" is a crafty and engrossing heist film.

Spike Lee departs from his usual heavy-handed filmmaking to present an entertaining and inventive heist film. The antagonistic duo of Washington and Owen are powerful on-screen, but a lot of the believable supporting performances from the SWAT crew and the hostages make the film work.

Clive Owen and Denzel in a cops-and-something standoff. They're not robbing the bank and shooting hostages, so what's it all about? Interesting and satisfying.

Lee's smart film distinguishes itself from other heist films by demonstrating how undistinguishable the human face can be. Tricked me.

I was disappointed in this movie, it's one of Spike Lee's worst movies. The whole movie, you're on the edge of your seat waiting for something to happen, and it rarely does. One thing in the movie that is typical of Spike Lee movies is that it didn't have a good ending.

A good movie. Very solid. I wouldn't call it the greatest movie ever made as most of the camera work and storyline are very average. Still worth a watch on TV, HBO, or on Demand if you have it. Spike Lee brings it down but still good.

A good bank heist with enough twists to make you watch twice. Inside Man has great casting and an interesting, is somewhat convoluted story. It isn't perfect, but it leaves you satisfied in the end.

First off - I REALLY liked this movie. I thought it was clever, (even though I would like to know how Clive's character figured out what was in the bank) and Denzel was good as always. Owen was good as the lead "robber". Maybe I haven't seen enough bank heist movies, but I thought this was very fresh and smart. The "shit hole"....come on....who knew? The whole perfectly planned scheme. I just loved it. I almost felt smarter after watching it. Maybe just a little more scandalous....
