John (Jack) Worthing (Colin Firth) and Algernon (Algy) Moncrieff (Rupert Everett) lie about their names to impress certain ladies. Cecily (Reese Witherspoon) would like to marry somebody named Earnest. Some iffy moments were displayed by John and Algernon just to make themselves attractive. From the beginning its direction was dull despite the superb artists involved with this picture. It had lush settings, sets, costumes and exquisite dialogue. A descent watch to see how everything will turnout with the characters.

I can't rate this movie, because I didn't watch the whole thing. I sat through the first 5 minutes and I was confused and bored. Apparently, according to the review below I should have given it a little more time, but I just couldn't. I don't think I ever will.

"The Importance of Being Earnest" is brilliant. Oscar Wilde's dizzyingly comedic script is brought to life by one of the greatest casts ever assembled. I loved it loved it loved it! Can you tell I loved it? Colin Firth and Rupert Everett have great chemistry on screen as "brothers" and Reese Witherspoon and Frances O'Connor are brilliant at being "British women." Loved it. Just loved it. Good fun for the whole family!
