Another stinker from Paul Verhoeven. A promising young scientist tests an invisibility serum on himself and promptly turns into a psychotic pervert who strangely seems to also become nigh on indestructible in a Jason Voorhees style way. Badly written, ugly effects and nonsensically plotted.

Why does invisibility make people unstable and dangerous. I'd think it'd be fun. Kevin Bacon's naked body.

Plays like a more violent version of the Invisible Man. Mostly a showcase of special effects, rather than a full fledged film.

Lots of flashy special effects, but nothing much else. This is a gruesome take on the Invisible Man genre, but the gratuitous nudity and gore can't cover up the lack of interesting characters and silly plot/dialogue.

I was looking for a lot more to come from this movie. The cast was good the plot could have been better. The invisible man thing...well it was ok. Glad i didn't see it in the theater, would have been a waste. Expected more from Kevin Bacon and Elisabeth Shue. The "kill them all before they catch me" has been overdone and should have been not done in this one

I never met an invisible man movie that I liked... including Hollow Man. Of course, there was the gratuitous use of smoking to cleverly reveal the invisible man, earning the film a SmokeScreeners rating of 3 Butts. www.smokescreeners.org

Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Good vs Evil: 0.5/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 + Plot: 0.5/1 + Music: 0/1 = 5.5/10 or 55%. It's an interesting, albeit used, premise. Sometimes Verhoeven's infatuation with sin, absolute power, sex, and blood works (Robocop, Starship Troopers), but here he fails. What we wind up with is a made for TV quality yawner that's completely stupid in nearly every facet. Why 1 star then? The premise and getting to see Elisabeth Shue in various underwears.

I don't know if this was supposed to be some kind of hip, new remake on the Invisible Man, but it doesn't work at all. You couldn't pay me to sit through this jumbled mess again.
