'Mojave' has an identity crisis. I was under the impression this was a throwback Hitchcock-style thriller involving a killer playing mind games with a man whom he knows his secret. At least, that's exactly how the movie sets itself up as. The rest is all over the damn place. No tone is ever established, characters remain un-engaging throughout, direction is pretty bland, and the plot goes absolutely nowhere. Any time the two opposing main forces meet it turns into a trite existential dialogue that has no bearing on the rest of the film. Their actions make little sense. Too many different ideas and lack of cohesion weighs out any possible entertainment. The only bit of interest is Oscar Isaac's strange performance.
