Life is like a box of chocolates!

I love this movie and personall feel its one of Tom Hanks best films. There is so much heart in the movie and I think for the time it was very clever. The whole cast does a fantastic job and there are numerous moments which are touching throughout the movie. The way that weave the fabric of Forrest Gump's life through American history is magical. Also, it touches on the feelings and emotions of having a child with a disability, how everyone makes their own journey in life and explores the love of friends, romance and family all in one movie. Not to mention the movie has a fantastic soundtrack including awesome songs from the sixties, seventies and eighties. Definitely a nineties classic and a movie the whole family can watch. Don't miss it!

This is the perfect Drama/Comedy the balance between serious and funny is perfect. This is in my opinion Robert Zemeckis' best movie. It is just perfect.

The screenplay is incredible it is filled up with perfect jokes, a beautiful story And so many perfect lines. It is just so realistic but unrealistic at the same time. It shows us a lot about some important american moments. Like "Watergate" or even the Vietnam-war. The characters were all written and developed perfect.
The acting is so …

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you might get."

'Forrest Gump' is a beloved classic drama from the 1990s starring Tom Hanks as the title character. He was born with a learning disorder but he goes on to accomplish great things, and meet some of history’s most notable figures such as President John F. Kennedy, President Richard Nixon, Elvis Presley and Forrest even receives the Medal of Honor for selflessly saving the lives of his fellow platoon members during Vietnam war.

Although Forrest accomplishes success in life, deep inside all he really wants is to marry Jenny, his child hood friend and first love, and have a family. She is a tortured soul who was so mismatched for him in so many ways that I thought it impossible for them to be together but this does …

Forrest Gump review

Forrest Gump is an entertaining novel based picture from start to finish. You have Tom Hanks portraying the mentally challenged yet guileless Forrest Gump. He stumbles into various historical events and was part of the US Army ping pong team. After being discharged he buys a shrimping boat with Benjamin Buford Blue, nicknamed Bubba and Lt. Dan as first mate. After being successful, he gives a portion of the profits to Bubba’s family. Jenny proposes to Forrest after meeting up since she was infected by an unknown virus. He discovers the reality that they both have a son. Some valuable quote: Forrest Gump - "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."' Mrs. Gump – “Death is just a part of life. It's something we're all destined to do. I didn't …

Run!! Forrest.. Run... to #12 on my list!

Forrest Gump is a heartwarming tale about a mentally slow young man as he makes his journey through life. Forrest encounters many interesting people through this journey that makes him a better person and helps him deal with his disability. He is raised by a strong mother ( played wonderfully by Sally Field) that teaches him self worth. He falls in love with Jenny (Robin Wright Penn) and this love is what keeps Forrest determined.. This movie is outstanding because of the acting of Hanks, Penn, and most of all Gary Sinise. Sinise's portrayal of Captain Dan is by far his best work. The direction by Robert Zemeckis is outstanding. But the best part of the movie is the infussion of key times in history into Forrest's life. From teaching Elvis Presley the Pelvis Gyro to reporting Watergate, …

Momma Always Said.....#38

Most people probably rank this movie higher but I still think it is just a tad bit over-dramatized.....that being said it is still a wonderful movie. I can watch it with ease and I love the performance of Tom Hanks (although I still think his individual performances in Saving Private Ryan, Philadelphia and Cast Away are equal if not better) as well as the supporting cast of Sally Field, Robin Wright Penn and Gary Sinise (who does do his best work...period). Most of what director Robert Zemeckis does is daring and seems to work but too many unrealistic situations hurt the movie a little. Had he not exaggerated it so much it probably would have been in my Top 10......as it is it is one of the best drama's ever put on screen and comes in at #38........

The movie that drops names.

Forest Gump's whole appeal is it shows historical events which people know, and people find that interesting. Its overall narrative is nothing special, but the clips of the historical footage is why everyone likes it so much I suspect, since you go oh look he's with Kennedy or he is with Nixon or with John Lennon. If you took that out would people still like it. Maybe they would I know I did not like it. Yes I saw the appeal in seeing him in the footage but it actually was just a gimmick. As for Forest himself he was just kind of annoying and Hanks really gave an annoying performance.

Oscar Win Best Actor Tom Hanks 1/5- A performance like Hanks you either like or hate it, well I hated it. I could not stand what he did in this movie ata ll. it was standard oh look and the sweet low IQ …

This film has everything that a person could want; action, romance, sentiment, comedy and yet people still slate it, I really don't understand! This is one of my favorite films of all time, and Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors of our generation in my opinion and so I find it very difficult to see why people dislike it so much. The storyline itself is great, it's brilliant in its simplicity - basically the story of a young boy's life, and the amazing things he does with it. Each character brings something else to the story that adds to its brilliance and all the actors in it play their parts with the utmost talent, especially Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. As many of my friends know, I often watch this film burning with fury at Wright's character Jenny and the way she treats her …

Review - Forrest Gump (1994)

“Hello. My name is Forrest, Forrest Gump.” With these words, Forrest (Tom Hanks) begins a trip down Memory Lane with stories of war, peace, love and loss in the Best Picture winning film, “Forrest Gump.”

First off, I have to say that I believe this film is one of the most deserving Best Picture winners I have seen. Now, if Shawshank had won, I might be rephrasing that statement, but regardless, this film is incredible. The stories, the drama, the comedy, they all work so well together that it’s almost indescribable without personally being shown the film.

The film follows Forrest’s past as he tells of all of his experiences and the love of his life, Jenny Curran (Robin Wright Penn). He tells of his mother’s (Sally Field) knowledge and his Vietnam friends Bubba …

Dumb and Dumber

This is a one joke movie. Fact. Look it up on wikipedia, if you look up "one joke movie" you'll see pictures of Mr. Bean, Pauly Shore and Forrest Gump. Why Forrest Gump? Because practically ever scene ends with the unspoken clause, "it's because he's retarded". Ignore your prejudice and your heartstrings and do it. You may not even have to if you watch this with a group of high schoolers or stoners, because the timing of the laughter fits my premise precisely. When this film came out people were blown away like Lt. Dan's legs and then by how we could see the bottom of the wheel chair...even though Gary Sinise did not actually sacrifice even one limb to make this an Oscar winner. Yet these things alone do not make Forrest Gump a bad film, because it's not a bad film. Bad films …
