Decent family comedy. Steve Martin is genuine as the father. |

Watched this movie in the theater with my dad, many years before I got married and knew then how hard that day would be for both of us. This daddies little girl loves this movie. The heartwarming humor makes this one of my favorite movie. Its a must see movie for father and daughters and mothers and friends. The great cast makes for a very believable and touching movie. |

A remake that actually works thanks in large part to casting and chemistry of said cast. This is a light comedy, but it manages to stay entertaining throughout. |

A father (Steve Martin) is not too thrilled after finding out his daughter is getting married (at 22 years, to someone she met over seas, whom he's never met before). The wedding takes the family through many ups and down, but of course, eventually ending out perfect.
I loved this movie. It has everything going for it, it being a harmless family movie, with a strong storyline filled with humour. |

Over the year Steve Martin has abandoned many of his more adult roles in favor of more family films. Honestly I thought it was a good move, while I miss a lot of his adult humor, movies like Father of the Bride were good enough to hold my attention. I liked this movie, it had a lot of laughs, and it really helped push his career as more of a family man kind of actor. Martin Short was brilliant as his character Franck. It you want a family movie that anyone can enjoy this would a be a good choice. |
