The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift review

Style over substance exemplified. Locations and cars were plush, if only the characters were more interesting. Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) is moved to Tokyo and meets the business minded Twinkie (Bow Wow). They run into D.K. whose uncle is a Yakuza. If only there was more story with the Yakuza uncle and improved characters. Anther reason that this film was average was the lack of cast from the original. Better than the 2nd film of the franchise, plot-wise not as good as the original. Better direction, upbeat soundtrack though the acting especially the lead was awful. Some of the racing sequences were overdone which drags the film. Nice cameo at the end though, but even that cant make The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift engaging enough.

The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift is a hot "spin-off" of the Fast and Furious franchise that is off the chain! I mean the storyline works so well and the characters are so cool that this movie is already consider a cult classic. Literally introducing the world to the art of drifting in a way that has spawned millions of new fans to the sport!

"Sean Boswell" (Lucas Black) is a troubled teen with a long record that consist of numerous tickets -- one of which he admits getting the day he got his license.
After another arrest following a drag race with a high school football player (Zachery Ty Bryant) over the football player's pretty girlfriend (Nikki Grifin) where "Boswell" wrecks his car, his mother (Lynda Boyd) ships him off to his father (Brian Goodman), a United States Marine who lives in Tokyo, Japan.
He is instantly a fish out of water, but instantly bonds with Army Brat "Twinkee" (rapper Bow Wow). He also meets an absolutely beautiful classmate named "Neela" (the beautiful Nathalie Kelley), who is checking him out when he finally arrives to class after getting on the wrong train.
