Although an eye-opener and solidly acted, "A Most Wanted Man" feels as if it spends a little too much time laying groundwork, and only rarely strikes interest.

A suspenseful and well paced spy thriller with Philip Seymour Hoffman giving a standout performance before his untimely death. The cast is mostly good except for Rachel McAdams who does try her best given the quality script and I commend her for at least trying.

I hated this movie. This movie was so boring, dull and of course dumb liberal nonsense.

A very intelligent, pared back spy thriller with both German and American security agencies monitoring a person of great interest when he arrives unexpectedly in Hamburg and seeks refuge within the Islamic community there. Phillip Seymour Hoffman saved his best performance for last as this was sadly his final film.

'A Most Wanted Man' is a well directed and acted thriller. I hesitate to call it a thriller, because it's not actually 'thrilling'. It is entertaining, for what it is. The film is not trying to meet any standards of the labeled genre. It's completely it's own thing. The story makes itself out to be slightly complicated, with how it is presented, but it's actually super simple. This makes the deliberately slow pace unnecessary. Yet, at the same time, the pace makes for decent build-up. A counteractive means of progression. It filled me with anticipation and impatience, simultaneously. However, the finale pulled things together. It was unexpected and left a nice sting of harsh realism.
