It's as if you are watching a soap opera instead of a superhero movie. 80% of the dialogue is devoted to marital problems, love triangles, and commentary on Jessica Alba's admittedly sexually desirable body. There is next to no action in the plot and the finale is barely 60 seconds long. The worst crime committed by this movie was the neutering of Doctor Doom, one of Marvel's greatest super-villains. He's taken out by a fire hydrant. That is how the Fantastic Four defeat Doctor Doom. With a fire hydrant. Let's hope that reboot they got coming in 2015 does better.

The story is about a scientist and businessman parter up for a mission in space aboard a private vessel. However, when cosmic rays engulf the ship, everyone aboard will find themselves changed in ways they could never imagine. This movie is goofy and stupid but when it first came out I enjoyed it because how goofy the movie really is.

Basically this movie is not good. The acting is cardboard, at best, the visual effects are terrible, even for 2005 standards. I mean, by this time Peter Jackson created whole armies out of CGI, they couldn't even get rubber to look real. And, the Thing, I'm pretty sure that was just a paper mache suit. If the creators of the film were going for a throwback, almost campy feel, then they pulled it off. I think this film had more in common with the Batman television series from the 60's than it does modern comic book adaptations. If it's the only thing on HBO one night, like this was, then I guess watch it, but don't go out of your way.

This is the opposite of what modern comic book films have become - a superhero flick with no weight or real stakes. The visuals are cartoony, wasting the potential for battles and action sequences of real creativity and the acting is over-the-top and silly.

Based on the Marvel Comics comic Fantastic Four. It was directed by Tim Story, and released by 20th Century Fox. It is the second live-action Fantastic Four film to be filmed. The previous attempt, a B-movie produced by Roger Corman only for the purpose of retaining the film rights, was never intended for a theatrical release. Despite getting major hype on its release and becoming a box office success, the film was negatively received by critics. But it's a great , amusing and funny film.

Not enough dialogue, action, character build-up and interesting plot to make this film memorable or even watchable. Only thing pleasing to look at is Jessica Alba and the effects. Not one of the better superhero films created.

It's lacking action and character. A by-the-numbers comic film that's just passable.

This is a really fun and entertaining superhero movie. Christ Evans is great as the human torch.

It was kinda boring for a special effects movie.
