A second life, a second chance!

Jennifer Garner stars in the title role, a heroine who has been brought back from the dead and who now works as an assassin, going from one mission to another. So it should come as no surprise that when she is ordered to take out two targets she has become a little attached to things go a little bit haywire.
She meets a widowed father Mark (Goran Visnjic) and thirteen year old daughter Abby Miller (Kirsten Prout). Young Abby begins to bond with Elektra and of course she relates to Abby, after losing her mother at an early age also.

Afterwards, Elektra finds out that Mark and Abby are her next assignment, and that a group of highly skilled and mystical vigilantes called "The Hand" are the ones who put the hit on the Millers. Elektra tries to kill the Millers, but alas, she just can't …

"Elektra" by Yojimbo

Reprising her character from the (rather dull) Daredevil movie, Jennifer Garner is resurrected from the dead as a deadly assassin to save a girl whose talents are being squabbled over by the forces of good and evil. Quite why this is, I'm not sure as her talents appeared to be nothing more than being quite good at kung fu, although nowhere near as good as anyone else in the film. I have to say, it shares a lot in common with the previous film. There are some nice visual effects, particularly those involving Tattoo's living body art and the action is adequately handled, but there really is not enough of it. The only attempts to flesh out Elektra's character are a constant stream of clumsy flashbacks of the same single event and Garner doesn't really have the charisma to carry a film on …

Action: 1/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Good vs Evil: 1/1 + Love/Sex: 0.5/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 Plot: 0/1 + Music: 0/1= 3/10 or 30%.

One may recall that Elektra is killed by Bullseye in the movie Daredevil, thus she is brought back to life and assumes a new persona as a contract killer.

Much is missed, skipped, or left out though. The comic geek in me wants to tell you how her trainer, Stick, is a badass that trains other badasses (in the comics he trains Daredevil, Black Cat, recovers Wolverine out of his feral state, and leads a ninja group called the Chaste). But you'd never know it. Other characters like Typhoid (part of the sinister assassin group the Hand who have fueded with the Chaste since feudal Japan) pop-up, which is believed to be based on Typhoid Mary, but one never knows …

Could be more Elektra-fying

"Elektra" (Jennifer Garner) is asked by her martial arts trainer, the blind "Stick" (Terence Stamp), to leave his training facility and becomes lost in the world she inhabits.

"Electra" becomes a contract killer working for "McCabe" (Colin Cunningham). When she begins to wear out and requests time off, "McCabe" informs her that she has been hired by somebody who wants to pay double the normal rate, and she reluctantly agrees to taking the job.

When she goes to the location for the hit, she is forced to wait for her orders. She then meets "Abby Miller" (Kirsten Prout) and her father "Mark" (Goran Visnjic). The next day, she learns that the father and daughter she has been been befriended by are her targets.

As she tries to do her job on the "Millers", she realizes she can't …
