Like almost all Harmony Korine movies, "Spring Breakers" is a convincingly made but hollow saga that leaves you feeling indifferent while asking "What was the point of it all?"

Not as much fun as I was thinking it would be - it went to some dark places but throughout the whole movie I couldn't tell if I should be taking anything seriously. Regardless, Franco is a hilarious hot mess as a grill-fronting drug dealer and all the women (always in bikinis - or less - because Spring Break!) even manage to elicit some decent performances. One thing is for sure - this is not the movie you think it's going to be.

4 hot girls on spring break rob a store and end up getting involved with a local hood/gangster thats the story. I read a lot of good reviews on this movie. but it was so dissapointing Iit was .interesting the way it was filmed/made but basically it was lots of tits and ass and no real dialogue story or reason behind it. with not much happening. strangely they didn't even do any sex scenes cept one silly pool one. strange ending as well and totally unrealistic from start to finish. the girls were hot though

'Spring Breakers' plays like an extended party music video at first, but the atmosphere slowly dissolves into darker territory. What follows are the exploits of four young college girls as they delve into destructive behavior. The film is mostly concerned with visuals and maintains it's flashy music video look and editing through the entire running time. However, it's intentions contain some merit, because the girls face serious consequences for their actions and are forced to consider a change in lifestyle. My only gripes are the film's overall style, the repeating voice-over that happens often, and the fact that it all boils down to sex, money, drugs and guns. These things gave me a feeling of detachment.

This movie surprised me. It was really good, the best movie i have seen so far in 2013. It has been an admittedly bad year for movies though. It's really funny, James Franco is funny as hell. The other actresses are surprisingly good as well. Somehow, this turned out to be a really good movie.
