Initially met with polarized responses when first released and De Palma was still cutting his teeth as a director, "Dressed to Kill" still has its share of detractors for various reasons but has also garnered warmer appraisal as a genuine killer thriller akin to the Hitchcock masterpiece "Psycho."

Brian De Palma flexes his chops in this Hitchockian erotic thriller. Perhaps it owes a little too much to Psycho. But it's suspenseful with good performances and De Palma's direction lends it plenty of style.
