A real stand out for Spike Lee. His flawless direction backs his well inspired script, thus making "Do The Right Thing" important and still relevant.

While the film may have the look and feel of the 80's, it's themes will remain timeless. It hits the topic of prejudices and racial tension directly on the nose. The dialogue and characters are so well written that you can clearly see where their conflict originates from and how they view each other's differences. Like all great films that dive into topics of human nature, this one raises questions and leaves the answers up to the viewer.

This is one of Spike Lee's greatest films, if not his greatest. It's a movie that explores race relations in an emotional, symbolic, and often very funny portrait, that features an ensemble cast and some creative shot selection from the masterful director. It definitely sticks with you after the final frame and none of the themes felt forced.

Definitely a thought-provoking, dicussion-spurring film, especially with the two quotes at the end. A unique vision certainly helps you enter into the conflict and the heart-breaking climax. Do I agree completely with what Spike Lee is saying? No. But that doesn't inhibit one from enjoying this movie.

Definitely Spike Lee's best. But, also a classic movie in its own right. It tells the tale of the history of racism and riotting in America.

Spike Lee's best film is one everyone should see. The acting, directing, music all come together to form a perfect gem of a film. Lee doesn't shy away from race relations, and he doesn't sugar coat it either. Powerful, moving - excellent.
