The tenacious hilarity of this mischievous romp is rather hard to surmise in the words of any human tongue. One could be persuaded to attempt the task, of course, but really it would be time better spend on watching the film again. It may not be the greatest film of all time, but it is incontrovertibly the most rewatchable!

Definitely one of the better Steve Martin movies. Michael Caine rises to the occasion and shows he has great comedic timing and the film features some successful slapstick and physical comedy bits.

For the cast, I was hoping to like this more, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. Steve Martin is still a great comic, and he matches well with Michael Caine, but it just felt like something was missing.

This film has some of the funniest Martin performances I've ever seen. The movie as a whole isn't amazing but the funny parts are so funny the lame parts are forgivable.

This movie is Steve Martin at his best. It's slapstick and you have to enjoy the chemistry between Michael Caine and Steve in this one. The big conman in town gets a little competition. Shows you how funny a movie can be when the actors really commit to the gag. The jokes aren't entirely predictable, but as the movie goes on you almost start expecting things from the actors and when they meet those expectations its great. Definitely worth a watch. Good for a rainy day!
