A film that suffers from a plot that balloons in its ridiculousness with each frame, despite strong performances from the cast (Vincent Cassel is particularly nasty as the film's villain.) It wants to be a neo-noir, but it's missing the captivating dialogue and plot points that usually characterize the genre.

Enjoyable enough thriller, which is derailed (ahem) slightly by some strange casting (3 Brits playing Americans, an Aussie and a Frenchman) and some gaping plot holes. Owen is very good and is the whole show although Aniston won’t be shaking her Friends image off yet with the under used role she plays. Decent storyline doesn’t always do the obvious but the twist is pretty much telegraphed and it does leave a little bit of a sour taste in your mouth after the events preceding it earlier. File this one under Interesting.

Clive Owen is miscast but fair in this extremely tired and predictable thriller; Aniston is particularly stiff as a philandering businesswoman while Vincent Cassel goes over-the-top as a violent thug. Too much works out nicely in the end, and one has a hard time believing most of it. Final Grade: D+

When I saw this movie I knew nothing about it. A friend of mine had it and recommended it to me to watch. Clive Owen is absolutely awesome in this movie. Jennifer Aniston plays a role that is so unlike any of the other parts she has ever had before that it really comes as a shock that she can pull off this kind of character the way that she does. Owens and Aniston are having an affair, when they are blackmailed by a violent criminal. Now in order to save their families they have to flip the circumstances and get back at the guy that is blackmailing them. The movie is very dark, and really makes you wonder what is going to happen with each twist of events.
