Although the conventional set pieces and excessive use of SFX give it a light stench of banality, "Maleficent" is a re-imagining of a Disney classic that's not entirely necessary but isn't deserving of disapproval either.

Good acting, Good CG and special effects, just don't like rewriting a classic.

Everything went well except from how it ended. It felt like the action scenes on the later part and the crowning of princess were not as extravagant as it supposed to end. The very least they could have done was to make the ending really heartwarming.

a pretty mundane sleeping beauty story. with lots of cgi some of which doesn't look good. average suguary nonsence i dont see this as a cinema movie or one to attract everybody. its very much like your tv fairytale movie. not keen on the casting sleeping beuty is more like a spoilt brat. angelina jolie is ok but has little to back her up. the whole movie looks cg1 riiden and fake and just doesn't have a good look the fairies are awful big heads cg1 sillyness. most of all its boring.nothing really happens of any interest. its over with a whimper as it begins. tv movie for kids even then not much to keep them focused. poor

Take the musical Wicked, apply the basic premise to Sleeping Beauty, add a touch of CGI and a deliciously portrayed Maleficent by Angeline Jolie, and stir the pot. Unfortunately, the rest of the cast seems misplaced, and I for one knew fifteen minutes in what the supposed "twist" was going to be. Oh well, there are definitely worse ways to spend a couple of hours.

Was this movie great? Objectively speaking, no. The special effects were too busy, the plot was negligible, the supporting actors were mostly flat, and the "feminist twist" was possibly even more regressive than the original fairy tale. But it turns out that Angelina Jolie being unutterably fabulous makes up for a multitude of other sins. Quite possibly the campiest, vampiest creature to grace the screen since the silent era... and if a generation of small children experiences a mass sexual awakening thanks to the sight of Jolie done up like a dominatrix, then that can't be all bad.

The one thing that I kept saying to myself while watching this movie is "why is this made?". Okay Anglina Jolie did a good job in her role as maleficent but the movie lacks on characters and the visual effect's was not so good and the three fairy's in the movie where annoying.
