A full scope docudrama that focuses on the search for Osama bin Laden that spanned almost 10 years and 2 presidential administrations. Kathryn Bigelow's direction is flawless as her film explores the events of the worldwide manhunt, its urgency, and its ethical ambiguities.

Jessica Chastain is perhaps the toughest actress I've seen in a movie that has nothing to do with aliens or maybe that is she plays the toughest female character I've seen in a movie that has nothing to do with aliens. As for the movie itself? Almost three hours of torture porn instead of what I thought was the premise, hunting for Osama Bin Laden. Before the smartasses start commenting, I know torture was used in the process but Jesus, does the whole movie have to be nothing but torture?

A fine film with great direction and acting. The pace was a little slow, but, then the pace to actually find bin Laden was slow. The last 30 minutes are incredible. Even though, we, the viewer knows what's going to happen, we're still on the edge of our seat. The torture scenes are a little rough, but, that's how things were. I also enjoyed the fact that we never really "see" G.W. Bush, Bin Laden, or Obama. Bigelow doesn't stoop to trying to find actors to portray these very important people. OK, there was an actor playing Bin Laden, but, we never get a good look at him. This is an excellent film by an excellent film maker.

I enjoyed the movie. The best part about it though, was the topic and plot. Other than that; the writing, the acting, the storyline, and other aspects of the film left much to be desired. I only really got into Maya's character, so the film was very one-dimensional to me. I know a lot of people do not agree with me, but I really failed to see the 'greatness' of this movie. They took an amazing topic and historical situation and turned it into a mediocre movie.

I liked it. It isn't an action movie I think a lot of people thought it would be but it's not. It's really good at showing the facts and following the path to how they tracked down Bin Laden. I liked it because I enjoy documentaries and I think this was a documentary but a little more Hollywood

Well acted and directed piece that is presented with realism. It was slow, but never boring. I felt as invested in this search, as the main character (played convincingly by Chastain). The film builds up a feeling of anxiousness and anticipation for it's climax, in which it does not disappoint.

Zero Dark Thirty (2013): Maya (Jessica Chastain) is a CIA investigator who goes on a ten year mission to hunt down Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of the Twin Tower attacks on 9/11. Chastain is amazing in this role as a character who is so driven to find Bin Laden that she has no personal life, almost no friends and she displays a single-minded determination that antagonizes everyone she works with. There are some very good supporting actors in this film, including Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler and Jennifer Ehle, but it's Chastain’s film, and she dominates every scene she's in. When you see it, though you know its outcome, you are still on the edge of your seat until the very end. My Rating: I Would Pay to See it Again
