Arnie is back!

Arnie is back!

Fun, entertaining full of action with Arnold as sherriff in a godforsaken hole somewhere near the Mexican border on his way to his retirement. Do not expect a thoughtful story because sometimes laughable how it proceeds. But itís purely about the action. Various gunfights, with bullets flying around in abundance. If only most policemen were like him in this film. Crimes would be resolved rather quickly.

Two truckers in a cafe plus a dead old farmer and Arnold knew immediately that there was a connection and things would go wrong real soon. Thereís an amusing pursuit in a cornfield that ends with a heroic fight Ö For me this is the ideal movie for a Saturday night. But itís abundantly clear how badly the acting talent of Schwarzenegger is. He had too much text in this ...

Arnie's back!!!!!

I have to admit that when I heard that Arnie was through with politics and being the governator and was slowly making the jump back to movies, although thrilled as he was at one time my fave action hero of days gone by, I will admit I feel age is a factor here as Arnold is now 65 that watching this film I felt wow he is too old for this $hit however after seeing the film I feel Arnie can still knock em' out of the park so to speak. The Last Stand is Arnie's comeback and I am here to happily state that he is back and back with a vengeance.

Arnie portrays town sheriff Ray Owens a former LAPD cop who is semi retired in a sleepy lil town where the highest action takes place within his jurisdiction is probably rescuing a cat out of a tree. This lil town is known as Summerton Junction. ...

Arnold's comeback film is throw away trash

The Last Stand
Directed by Kim-Jee -Woon
Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger
If Arnie is back! , The Last Stand does not stand enough to pull Arnie from the dark. Yes I admit it is a comeback film for the great action hero of yester years. But for the modern context, he is old to come back. There are lots of guns firing, shot guns hitting metals and swirling helicopters to the finish. I felt for a while that director Kim-Jee Woon had missed to write a story here. For a great action star, one needs a strong action plot. But the last stand does not stand to its work. It was meandering and I was waiting for the action to begin.
If I would say about the plot, it is simple. A cartel escapes in a fast car and he has to cross Summerton town to escape from US. But to cross the border, he h...

Arnold's back!

One of the biggest flops of 2013 (so far) is also by far the best action movie Iíve seen this year so far. Sure itís no Die Hard, but it was a heck of a lot better then A Good Day to Die Hard.

It can be cheesy sometimes, but itís not bad. Besides; everyone enjoys indulging in something cheesy now and again. Thatís always how I like my action flicks big, silly and cheesy (but not stupid, there is a difference,) and this movie doesnít disappoint. Itís not really a proper action movie without a few goofy one-liners.

Just look at last years The Grey. I wouldnít even consider that an action flick, its way to serious, and not nearly stylized enough. Fun Action movies are meant to be set up not unlike comedies, write a comedy, replace every other joke with an action set piece and, w...

The Last Stand review

Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is on a day off. Dangerous wealthy criminal Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) escapes and is headed to Ray's town. Light plot, lacks character development and a simple screenplay. Soundtrack was not that effective, though having Forest Whitaker brings-up the acting level. The strengths of the film would be the shoot-out, some minor humor and seeing good old Arny trying to come-up with catchy lines, which in this case falls short and flat. Build-up for the antagonist was good, if only we knew more about him, same goes for the fantastic Sheriff. Not all that bad, The Last Stand is a welcome action picture where Arnold can go back to his roots and maybe score another T2 quality like movie that people would remember him by. ...
