Teenagers in the 1950 battle to be hip or be square. Johnny Depp plays Cry Baby, the leader of the coolest gang around. He falls for a Square (played by Amy Locane) but society wants to keep them apart. This movie has it's cool and funny joke here and there but the songs didn't do it for me.

A Grease wanna be that never really impresses or ranges boredom. Cry-Baby is one of the earlier works of Johnny Depp.

Quirky musical comedy. Sometimes it feels like a parody. Other times it's an odd, cliche embracing homage. There were some good jokes, but the music got old. Overall it's just okay.

I found Cry-Baby to be quite similar to the movie Grease, which I loved. Not much to say about this film, except that Johnny Depp was great amongst others. It was quite stereotypical, but the characters were engaging and interesting. A really enjoyable movie.

A really fun movie with great performances by Johnny Depp, Amy Locane, and Susan Tyrrell (as Ramona Ricketts!).
