Hick could have been trashy entertainment, but instead it's just trash. An uninteresting and rather dull trifle of a film. Chloe Grace Moretz has already proven herself to be a great young actress, she was the saving grace of Kick Ass, and while she is good here she is unable to raise the material she's given. Characters come and go, the story is nothing new, and it just goes on and on as you wait for something to happen. And when things do happen, you can see it coming a mile away. It just all adds up to nothing much, good performances, but just a very dull experience and highly unsatisfying. Completely forgettable. Skip it. |
