Slow Starting, By-the-Numbers Kidnapping Thriller

I was going to leave a quick review of this movie and make a joke about how it's like making fire by rubbing sticks together: It takes forever to get started, and once it does the people watching get bored and realize it was done better before.
But since it doesn't have a full, honest review I'll be more fair.
That being said, this movie is VERY slow to start. My girlfriend, who's usually very tolerant of movies, commented, "Something better happen soon or I'm shutting this off. It's like a reality show." This was in the first 20-30 minutes of the movie.
Once the movie gets going, however, it becomes a very by-the-numbers kidnapping thriller. You know where things are going from the beginning. You can almost check off the things as they show up in the movie. There was only one …
