Hard-hitting as a drama, and even harder as a comedy, "50/50" deals with a relatable and tough subject, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes on the role with absolute courage.

Honestly, I think this is one of the best drama/comedy films I have seen in a very long time. The cast is perfect and Joseph Gordon-Levitt shines.

Great performances by both young actors. A very realistic approach to cancer with the lighthearted comical relief to ease the pain. Oh yea... someone needs to push his GF down the stairs (what a bi**h)

This movie is one to watch, if you have time on your hands. It's a brilliant continuation of the popular "Cancer survival" genre that seems to be sweeping the screen world. Though the movie covers a very serious topic, it still manages to remain humerous throughout. That said, I have seen few movies that are more predictable than this one. This element reduced the viewing experience for me, so I'm giving it 3 stars.

A solid comedy-drama about a man facing cancer that handles the seriousness with enough humor to make for an enjoyable film. This is all thanks to the performance of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who probably turns in his best performance. The film's only down parts are Seth Rogen doing the Seth Rogen Schtick - loud, cursing, pot-smoking, obnoxious character he is in everything he's in. Also, given Gordon-Levitt's age and the need for a love interest, Anna Kendrick is the world's youngest therapist in a completely unbelievable role. But other than those drawbacks, 50/50 is still a good watch.

A heartfelt film that is also very funny and life-affirming. The film's humor comes organically from the relationships between the characters. All of the actors give realistic performances that add to the unique blend of drama and naturalistic comedy. For a movie about cancer, it gives you a warm feeling by the end.

Here is a movie that strikes the perfect blend of heartfelt drama and comedy. The characters, situations and dialogue feel organically real. I almost never tear up during movies, but I found it impossible to not be moved by this story.
