Amoeba Johnny - wrote on 10/27/2012

I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie. I guess I was expecting a modern version of The Breakfast Club. It certainly starts off that way and runs with the theme for the first half. But then it turns into something else entirely with an absurd subplot in the second half. The forced love story was equally disjointed and awkward. I related to main protagonist, as I was the same way in high school, but his sexual innuendos wore thin after a while (and I prayed that I wasn't that bad in high school, but I probably was). In the end, this becomes one of those movies that is never quite greater than the sum of its parts. I don't regret watching it because, frankly, I've seen much worse. But I won't be in a rush to see it again.
