As fun as it looks on the surface, "The Adventures of Tintin" is utterly forgettable.

A solid animated film that plays more like National Treasure rather than Indiana Jones. Even if you're unfamiliar with the characters, it's a fun ride with some impressive CGI and inventive sequences. That being said, the movie is missing that magic touch that would elevate it - a bit hollow despite the bravado it displays.

I thought it was cute and funny. But, the plot wasn't all that great. The dog was the best character in the entire movie.

I had high hopes for this movie - Spielberg directing another adventure movie. This is no Indiana Jones but has some incredible camera work, great voice acting and an interesting story. But it lacks true character development of the main character and the formula is a bit over used (felt just like the first Pirates movie). Worth a rent.

A solid animated/motion capture film that succeeds for many reasons: the story, Spielberg's direction, John Williams' score, and the animation. I was not familiar with Tintin's stories before this, as such I was a little lost in the beginning as the film doesn't do a whole lot to establish who Tintin is. However, it isn't long before you're up to speed and can enjoy this adventure.

Tintin, a young journalist, and his dog Snowy embark in an adventure with a parchment scroll. He meets Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine and Haddock along the way. Details from the reflections of the suns rays, hair of the skin of Haddock, the water and more were just radiant. The pace in my opinion felt rushed to portray the various gorgeous settings. Also, I'm not a fan of swift conclusions and hints of a sequel. Overall, The Adventures of Tin Tin is a fun ride for all ages to enjoy.

A beautiful film that manages to capture the spirit of adventure and the inside jokes/sight gags that saturate Herge's book series. Although the books stand on their own as masterpieces, the film manages to serve as a tremendous homage to the series. All the voice acting lovingly breathes life into the characters, but Andy Serkis' Haddock stands on his own as a memorable, blustery, often-drunk sidekick to Tintin and steals some of the film's best scene. Spielberg continuously keeps his camera moving, mirroring the constant change of perspective that a graphic novel utilizes and this results in some gorgeous scenery and panoramic scenes. A worthy film that hopefully sets up many more adaptations of the Tintin series.

I never cared much for motion capture animated films, but this is by far the best of the ones I've seen. The animation is appealing and I greatly enjoyed the story and characters. Andy Serkis is very funny as Haddock. This is a light, fast paced and fun treasure hunt that plays out like the classic adventure films from way back.
